Major General Ismail Al Qarqawi returned unopposed as president
The elections committee confirmed Al Qarqawi's uncontested election as president for the 2020-2024 term, along with his list under the new presidential system.
The elections committee, chaired by Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, confirmed the uncontested election of Major General Ismail Al Qarqawi as chairman of the Basketball Association's board for the new 2020-2024 term, and approved his list under the new presidential system. The decision came at the general assembly held in Dubai, attended by Mohammed Al Kaabi representing the General Authority of Sports and by the club representatives; the meeting lasted no more than 15 minutes.
The president, elected unopposed, selected eight members for the board and two reserves. The eight are: Abdullatif Al Fardan (Sharjah), Mohammed Abdullah Al Haj (Al Wasl), Salem Al Mutawa (Khorfakkan), Ali Hassan Haji (Al Bataeh), Hamdan Saeed (Al Jazira), Maitha Musbah bin Dawi (Sharjah Women's Sport), Mansour Al Hashemi (Al Ain) and Farid Al Qaiwani (Al Nasr). The reserves are Ali Hussein Al Hammadi (Bani Yas) and Mohammed Abdulhamid Ibrahim (Al Wahda).
