Al Fardan elected to the FIBA Asia Executive Bureau as finance chairman

Abdullatif Al Fardan, vice-president of the UAE Basketball Association, has been elected to the Executive Bureau of FIBA Asia as chairman of its finance committee. He was returned unopposed for the 2023-2027 term, a second consecutive spell in the role.

Al Fardan said he was pleased with an appointment that underlines the strength of the Emirati presence in a major continental forum. He thanked the president of the UAE and Arab federations for his confidence and support in reaching the position, and for the part he has played in the considerable progress Emirati basketball has made in recent years. He also thanked FIBA Asia for its confidence in him.

“Our continental presence matters a great deal and confirms the central role we play in developing the game,” Al Fardan said. “The game will see further positive strides given the support we currently receive from every authority in the country, on both the administrative and technical sides.”
