Board meeting postponed
The general assembly meeting scheduled for 14 April was postponed.
The board of the UAE Basketball Association, chaired by Major General Ismail Al Qarqawi, has announced the postponement of the general assembly meeting scheduled for 14 April.
The board postponed the meeting until further notice, given current circumstances caused by the coronavirus and out of concern for everyone's safety.
More than two weeks ago the board moved to remote working, in line with instructions issued to protect public health.
The president of the UAE and Arab basketball federations, Ismail Al Qarqawi, had called on everyone in the game — in a campaign he is leading with the board and the players — to follow the government's instructions on staying at home under the “Committed, my nation” initiative.
“In these difficult circumstances the world is facing in confronting coronavirus, I hope every one of our citizens and residents will follow the instructions of our leaders, may God protect them from all harm, until this ordeal passes from our country and the world,” he said.
