Sharjah stay top; notable results in round two

Sharjah strengthened their lead in the men's general basketball league with a 90-80 win over Al Dhafra in round two of the second stage.
Sharjah reached 22 points with an 11th win, while Al Dhafra remain on 14.
Shabab Al Ahli Dubai continued their run of wins by beating Al Jazira 87-76, taking them to 21 points, while Al Jazira stayed on 12 after a second consecutive defeat.
Bani Yas returned to winning ways at Al Wasl's expense, 87-69, moving to 16 points and level with Al Wasl.
At home Al Nasr overcame visitors Al Wahda 103-88 to reach 20 points, while Al Wahda stayed on 13 after a second consecutive loss.
Al Bataeh put things right after last round's defeat by beating Al Ain by a wide margin, 105-47, reaching 19 points, while Al Ain remain on 11.
Round three of the general basketball league is played on Thursday, with Sharjah hosting Al Bataeh and Al Wasl meeting Al Dhafra.
Al Wahda travel to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, Al Nasr meet Bani Yas, and at the Nahyaniya hall Al Ain play Al Jazira.
