Sharjah reach 13 wins; important victories for Shabab Al Ahli, Al Nasr and Al Bataeh
Sharjah beat visitors Al Ain for a thirteenth win, in round four of the second half of the men's league.
Sharjah recorded a 13th win in round four of the second stage of the UAE men's basketball league, overcoming visitors Al Ain.
Sharjah beat Al Ain by the crushing score of 106-25, the quarters finishing 26-4, 19-2, 37-18 and 24-1.
Sharjah thereby stayed top of the league on 26 points, against 13 for bottom-placed Al Ain.
Shabab Al Ahli continued their pursuit of the leaders with another win, 89-60 over Bani Yas.
Shabab Al Ahli settled the quarters 23-16, 22-16, 20-17 and 24-11 to reach 25 points, while Bani Yas have 18 points in sixth.
At the Mamouriya hall Al Nasr overcame Al Dhafra 89-80 in a closely contested match, with Al Nasr taking the first and fourth quarters and Al Dhafra the second and third.
Al Nasr moved to 24 points in third, with Al Dhafra seventh in the standings on 17.
Al Bataeh returned to winning ways with a 65-62 win over Al Wasl, making up for their defeat to Sharjah in the previous round.
The result took Al Bataeh to 22 points in fourth, two behind fifth-placed Al Wasl.
Also in round four of the second stage, Al Jazira beat Al Wahda 82-70, the quarters finishing 22-20, 23-12, 19-19 and 18-19.
The win lifted Al Jazira to 16 points in eighth, while Al Wahda are second from bottom on 15.
