Shabab Al Ahli win the Vice President's Cup

Shabab Al Ahli were crowned winners of the 15th H.H. the Vice President's Cup for men — their sixth title in the competition — after beating Sharjah 96-93 after extra time, regulation having finished level at 80-80, at Al Wasl's hall in Dubai.

Major General Ismail Al Qarqawi, president of the UAE and Arab basketball federations, presented the awards to the champions and runners-up after a match watched by Issa Hilal, chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, chairman of the individual and team games sector at Shabab Al Ahli, Ali Al Midfa, chairman of Sharjah club, federation vice-president Abdullatif Al Fardan, board members and a number of officials from the sports sector.

Shabab Al Ahli and Sharjah reached the final after wins over Al Wasl and Al Nasr respectively. It was the third final between the two this season, and Sharjah's fourth of the campaign, having taken the season's first title in the Federation Cup; Shabab Al Ahli had already won the general league and the President's Cup before adding the Vice President's Cup for a treble.
