Shabab Al Ahli champions for the 14th time
A 96-67 win over Al Nasr in the second leg of the final seals a third consecutive general league title.
Shabab Al Ahli were crowned champions of the men's general basketball league for a third consecutive season and the fourteenth time in their history, beating Al Nasr 96-67 in the second leg of the final at Al Wasl club in Dubai. Shabab Al Ahli had won the first leg 86-80.
The champions and runners-up were honoured by the president of the Arab and UAE basketball federations, Abdullatif Al Fardan, and Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, chairman of the sports games sector board at Shabab Al Ahli, in the presence of secretary general Salem Al Mutawa, board member and head of the executive office Mohammed Abdullah Al Haj, board members Mansour Al Hashemi and Farid Al Qaiwani, federation director Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi, and Dr Majed Sultan, executive director of the sports games sector at Shabab Al Ahli.
The final was a strong contest between two big sides. Al Wasl finished third in the standings and Sharjah fourth.
