Shabab Al Ahli crowned men's league champions

A 75-63 win over Sharjah gave Shabab Al Ahli a second straight men's league title and a 13th in the competition's history.
Shabab Al Ahli were crowned men's basketball league champions for a second consecutive season and the 13th time in the competition's history, beating Sharjah 75-63 at Shabab Al Ahli's hall by quarters of 23-14, 19-17, 19-23 and 14-9. The tie went to a decider after the two sides traded wins home and away in a best-of-three final.
The win takes Shabab Al Ahli level with Al Wahda's record for the shield and lifts the club's overall haul to 44 titles across all competitions. Shabab Al Ahli had won the first leg at home 94-76, with Sharjah replying 80-74 at their own hall.
Sharjah took the silver medal as runners-up, while Al Wasl claimed bronze in third after beating Al Nasr 80-77 in the third-place match.
Major General Ismail Al Qarqawi, president of the Arab and UAE basketball federations, watched the match and presented the awards, in the presence of Issa Hilal, chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, chairman of the individual and team games sector at Shabab Al Ahli, his deputy Major General Talal Al Shanqiti, Ali Al Midfa, chairman of Sharjah club, federation vice-president Abdullatif Al Fardan, secretary general Salem Al Mutawa, and a number of officials from the sports sector.
