A comfortable 73-54 win at home in Dubai gave Shabab Al Ahli control of the tie.
Shabab Al Ahli beat Al Nasr 73-54 in the first leg of the men's league semi-final at their hall in Dubai, finding little difficulty in imposing their rhythm and securing the win by taking all four periods 25-13, 14-11, 21-17 and 13-11.
The match was handled by a crew of internationals Hassan Haji and Haitham Qoja with Kostas of Greece, supervised by international commissioner Dawood Al Tamimi. The second leg between the two next Saturday should be tense, with Al Nasr looking to make amends and Shabab Al Ahli planning to come through and reach the final. Should Al Nasr win, a deciding third game would follow.
