Men's league and women's activity suspended

The board of the UAE Basketball Association, chaired by Major General Ismail Al Qarqawi, has decided to suspend the men's general league and all women's activity from Monday 16 March 2020.

The decision is a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus, to protect the safety of everyone in the community, citizens and residents alike.

The board also decided that sporting activity would resume on 3 April, subject to assessment and review of the situation by the relevant authorities in the country.

Last Friday the board had decided that men's general league matches would be played without spectators until further notice, having previously postponed the cup draws, including the competition's stages, to 29 March.
