Federation signs a development agreement with Champs Ahead academy
The president signed a cooperation agreement with Champs Ahead, the academy owned by Fadi El Khatib, the greatest player in Lebanese basketball history.
Major General Ismail Al Qarqawi, president of the Arab and UAE basketball federations, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Champs Ahead academy, owned by Fadi El Khatib, the greatest player in the history of Lebanese basketball.
The agreement covers technical supervision of every age group in the national basketball teams and of the federation's other personnel such as referees, with a focus on developing the physical and tactical sides of the game.
Al Qarqawi said the agreement with Champs Ahead reflects the academy's ability to provide ideal support to the national teams, the clubs, the referees and the talent in the Emirates.
“El Khatib is committed to building a healthy, vibrant community of highly motivated students and athletes, with significant goals to be met,” he added.
Champs Ahead has successfully launched its basketball and fitness training programmes in the Emirates, aimed at supporting school students and young people as well as developing infrastructure and establishing sound training foundations.
El Khatib recently played for the UAE side at the Dubai friendly basketball tournament, the last stop in his playing career.
