Fifteen coaches complete the FIBA Level 1 course

The six-day international Level 1 coaching course closed with 15 coaches from around the world, led by international lecturer Dr Mounir Ben Habib.

The international Level 1 basketball coaching course has closed, with 15 coaches from around the world taking part over six days. Lectures were delivered by Dr Mounir Ben Habib, an international lecturer and technical director of the UAE Basketball Association. Federation vice-president Abdullatif Al Fardan presented the coaches with their certificates at the Salah Al Din hall in Dubai.

Al Fardan said the federation is regarded as the region's finest at running coaching courses of this kind, on the coaches' own testimony: the number and variety of courses held through the year has led coaches, particularly from the Arab world, to follow its activity in this area, which contributes considerably to developing a crucial element of the game.

“Our federation was determined not to halt the game's technical work even during the current global health crisis,” he said. “The wheel kept turning under the high-level precautionary measures we apply at every sporting event we currently hold. The federation's competitions now under way — among them the men's league, which closes tomorrow, Saturday, with the second leg between Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli — have reached their final stages, as did the women's league before it, won by Al Nasr.”
