First sports photography workshop held in the UAE

Sports Mania Dubai, in cooperation with FIBA Asia and under the supervision of the UAE Basketball Association, ran a sports photography workshop for the first time in the United Arab Emirates.

Champs Club in Jebel Ali hosted the two-day workshop on 24 and 25 February, attended by 15 photographers. The aim was to develop skills in sports photography: working with different cameras and lenses suited to sport, choosing professional angles while allowing for the arena environment and lighting levels, and the techniques of producing the finished image.

The workshop included practical work, with participants shooting a friendly basketball match as an exercise, after which their errors were analysed and their images improved.

At the close of the second day, certificates were presented by federation member Adel Saif and basketball great Fadi El Khatib.
