Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy win the women's President's Cup
The academy completed a clean sweep of the women's season, beating Sharjah Women's Sports Club 50-38 in the final.
The president of the UAE and Arab basketball federations presented the H.H. the President's Cup to Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Academy after a 50-38 win over Sharjah Women's Sports Club in the final, played at Al Wasl club in Dubai.
He was accompanied by Maitha bin Dawi, board member and head of the women's committee; Mohammed Abdullah Al Haj, board member and director of the executive office; and board member Ali Al Ameri.
The final drew a large crowd for both sides and was played in an excellent spirit with good performances from the players. The win completes the academy's control of the women's season, having already taken the league title — also at the expense of Sharjah Women's Sports Club.
Standing out for Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy were captain Amna Obaid, Fatima Haidar, Maryam Mubarak, Mashael Abdulrahman, Hind Mohammed, Maryam Ahmed, Claudine Sami, Hayat Saqr and Hind Khalid.
