Al Wathba beat Sale

Syria's Al Wathba won 75-72 to take fourth place in Group A and a quarter-final berth.
Al Wathba of Syria carved out a quarter-final place with a 75-72 win over Sale of Morocco to close their Group A campaign in fourth, behind Al Riyadi, Sale and Hoops, and ended the hopes of Arab champions Al Ittihad Alexandria, who went out to the astonishment of the experts after paying for three defeats — to Al Riyadi, Sale and Hoops.
The striking feature of this demanding group is that three teams finished level on eight points — Sale, Hoops and Al Wathba — with the advantage going to the Moroccan side on points difference in the head-to-head meetings between the three.
On this result Al Wathba, in fourth, meet Mighty Sports of the Philippines in Thursday's quarter-finals, while group winners Al Riyadi play the fourth-placed team from Group B, Sale meet the third-placed side, and Hoops face the group's runners-up, Ezzahra Sports of Tunisia.
The quarters finished 20-18, 19-18, 21-13 and 24-14. Al Wathba's professional Jeremy recorded the highest score with 24 points.
