Al Nasr win the juniors league
Al Nasr took the U16 title by a single point, 56-55 against Sharjah, in a high-quality final at Al Wasl.
Al Nasr's juniors were crowned league champions after a one-point win over Sharjah, 56-55, in the final at Al Wasl's hall. Both sides produced a high-quality match, with Al Nasr ahead from start to finish and the tension reaching its peak in the last three seconds of an entertaining display from both teams.
Sharjah finished as runners-up and Shabab Al Ahli took third after beating Al Wahda. The three teams received their awards from federation secretary general Salem Al Mutawa and executive director Mohammed Abdullah Al Haj.
Al Haj praised the overall standard: “An excellent match from both sides, which confirms that Emirati basketball has plenty of talent to serve the future of the game. I congratulate the players of both teams, and Shabab Al Ahli, on the top three places.”
