Al Nasr men reach the semi-finals
An 85-69 second-leg win over Al Dhafra, after a 69-54 first leg, sets up a semi-final against Shabab Al Ahli.
Al Nasr reached the men's league semi-finals after overcoming Al Dhafra 85-69 in the second leg, setting up a tie with Shabab Al Ahli. The first leg between the two had finished 69-54 in Al Nasr's favour.
In the second leg Al Nasr closed the first quarter nine points up at 23-14, before Al Dhafra steadied themselves and cut the gap to seven by half-time, taking the second period 19-17.
After the interval Al Nasr resumed, imposing themselves through the third and fourth quarters and settling them 26-20 and 19-16 to take the match.
Al Nasr are the third team into the last four, after Shabab Al Ahli and Al Bataeh went through last Saturday at the expense of Al Wasl and Al Wahda respectively — Shabab Al Ahli repeating their win over Al Wasl 78-61 in the second leg to follow the 89-69 first leg on the ninth of this month, and Al Bataeh securing their place with wins of 91-86 and 77-71 over Al Wahda. The fourth semi-final place remains between Sharjah and Bani Yas.
