National team player Jasim Mohammed insisted the tie is still in the squad's own hands and that the team will not depend on other results, saying he hoped to repeat the earlier picture from the first phase of qualifying, which the UAE topped.
Jasim noted that the match against Bahrain was difficult and that they had tried to shut down Bahrain's key players, but that several of the opposition proved a surprise. He explained that some of his team-mates had picked up injuries, among them Rashed Nasser.
